Our solar telescope is a giant step forward when it comes to observing the chromosphere, the area of the sun in which all the activity of our star SOL is observed. Its interferometer is specially designed to achieve high resolution and the presure turner (Double Stack) will allow us to stabilize the image until we can observe in great detail the sunspots with their umbra and penumbra zones, the protuberances on the solar limb, some of the size 4 times the diameter of the Earth, the faculae that show us the activity on the surface, the “thin” spicules of more than 15 km in diameter and the loops of plasma twisted by the strong gravitational field of the sun.
A powerful telescope that will let us know details of our star in a way that we would never have thought of.
